On October 29, 2015, Elkin Middle school students wrapped up national Bullying Prevention month by hearing from Mr. Andy Lambert of Clemmons, NC. Mr. Lambert, a former stand up comedian turned pastor for a Methodist church in the region, gave a motivational speech about being kind to one another.
Through story telling, Mr. Lambert shared with our students the importance of being kind to each other through the story of Eleanor Draper! In this story Eleanor Draper is made fun of because she eats paper, but in the end the narrator (Mr. Lambert) learns the importance of treating others as he would like to be treated.
At the end of the rally, students signed a Bullying Prevention Pledge and were very enthusiastic about preventing bullying at Elkin Middle.
